Amazing how much sparkle 13 well placed diamonds can produce. This moon and star pendant is set with eleven chunky old mine cut diamonds and two single cuts. In the moon are nine diamonds that are prong set in a buttercup mount. The moon shape is delineated with strips of 18 karat white gold that join together to form the points of the crescent moon. A narrow arch of gold holds a star with 13 points and a 4.25mm diamond in its center. At the top of the moon is a diamond set bail set with three diamonds, two old mine cuts and 1 single cut.
While the diamonds are antique the pendant appears to be vintage, lovingly made with antique stones. The diamonds range in size from 4.25mm to 1.5mm. They have an average color of G/H with clarities that range from SL1 - I . There is approximately 2 carats of diamonds in the entire piece including the diamonds in the bail. The piece is marked on the back 18K. The moon measures from the top of the bail to the bottom of the moon 1 3/4" x 1" wide, it weighs 7.7 grams. The piece is in very good condition. All stones are secure and ready for the night sky.
It hangs from an 18" diamond cut chain adding sparkle to sparkle, the chain is 14 karat gold and weighs 3 grams.
It is a sparkling treasure and perfect for those loving the celestial themes.
