Victorian Red Glass Flower Cluster Earrings

A lovely pair of multi-faceted red glass cluster, flower shape stud earrings. These earrings are made of glass and have a base metal backing, with new 14 karat yellow gold backs. The earrings have a wine red color, and look like garnets, but are actually made of glass. The earrings have been hand-made with much care, and were most likely made as carriage jewelry, to resemble expensive gemstones, but an affordable alternative. They have a larger central glass stone, and orbiting around this one are two rows of smaller multi-faceted glass. The earrings date to the 1880s and are a pleasure to look at. They are
approximately 1/2 inch in diameter. They are a lovely and original pair of antique earrings, made of a very popular red color- synonymous with romance and passion- often gifted as a symbol of romantic love during the Victorian era.
