Victorian Era Gilt Bohemian Garnet Flower Bracelet

This exquisite garnet gemstone flower bracelet is made in the 1880s during the Victorian era. It is made taking the flower motif, and composed of ascending segments, with the largest flower composition at the center of the bracelet. This piece is a real Czech treasure. Bohemian garnets were gemstones associated with romantic love. Because of their bold red color and their durability, these gemstones were the perfect symbol of passionate love. The 17 segments have different sized flowers; these shift from the smallest at 1/4 of an inch, to half an inch, to the center flower being approximately 5/8 of an inch. The rounded flowers or clusters are made up of orbiting round and multi faceted garnets, with punctuations of pear-shaped garnet gemstones. The intricate design of each flower really illuminates them. The bracelet has a security chain, and is approximately 8 inches in size. The bracelet is gilt on a base metal, but this does not detract from the high quality and notable craftsmanship of the piece. The latch at the end of the bracelet is a subtle hidden fitted flower attachment, making the flower pattern into a continuous line, as if they are together coming to a full bloom.

Garnets are the birthstone for January, and make a wonderful gift for someone loved.
