Victorian 14K Gold Radiating Star Pendant with Pearls and Diamond

$350

A stunning star-shaped pendant featuring 66 seed pearls and a central round brilliant cut diamond. A series of small pearls have been set in the 12 radiating arms of this 14 karat yellow gold star shaped pendant. The pearls are filled to the edges, as if it was a blooming flower, a curling sea anemone, or celestial vision.

This pendant is a real antique treasure. The bale on the back is a small hook that you can slide or feed a chain through . The attention to detail is a real marvel as is the design of this piece; each pearl has been hand-placed, bead set to create the undulating effect. Small pearls decorate the star in a radiating fashion the range in size from 1.25 mm to 2 mm. The diamond in the center is prong set and 2.5 mm in diameter. It is a bright and clear diamond and adds the perfect central sparkle.

The star measures approximately 1 3/8 inch in diameter and 3/8 of an inch in depth and weighs 3.4 grams. Circa 1890s. In great condition. Unmarked but acid tests to 14K.

During the late Victorian era we see feminine and nature motifs juxtaposed with luminous gemstones and celestial designs. We see gorgeous and unique pieces such as this one, of superior craftsmanship and sublime precision.

It is shown on a small paper clip link chain using one of the links to hook the bail into.
