This Victorian era lapis lazuli ring is made of 14 karat yellow gold and features a bold carved gemstone with a portrait of a warrior cameo. The rectangular lapis stone has a vibrant blue color, with a slight variety of darker and brighter blue tones. The rectangular stone measures 11/16 x 1/2 inches and has no cracks or chips. The ring is in great condition for its age.
This ring is quite unique. It has retrained and elegant gold details on a wire-like band; the carving on the stone is meticulous. The head of the warrior has nice dimensionality to it, with fine detail to the features on the face of the figure in profile. The mount around the stone is minimal, and the yellow color of the ring adds a nice sharp complimenting look. The ring is a size 5. The band of the ring has a split to it, or double band, but with a professional jeweler one could re-size it without the style being affected. The ring is not marked but tests to 14 k gold. Circa 1880.
