This is an extraordinary handcrafted Victorian 10k fancy link chain necklace with tons of versatility. The chain has incredible texture and size while remaining lightweight. The handmade circular links are held together by gold balls that fit together in a clever interlocking fashion.
There are two oversized reeded spring rings made from 14 karat gold. The linear smoothness of the reeded design offers nice contrast to the popcorn like texture of the chain. The loop on the spring ring is uniquely made for this piece and the spring ring is well suited for attaching charms too.
This piece is versatile in that it can be worn as a 21 3/4” necklace or separated into a choker and bracelet (see photos). When separated, the choker portion measures 14 3/4” and the bracelet measures 7”. The entire piece weighs 22.8 grams.
This is a classic Victorian design that is uniquely crafted. A treasure that would make an incredible gift or addition to your jewelry collection.
Circa 1890. Both the chain and the spring rings were acid tested to be 10 karat and 14 karat gold respectively.
