The pieces were designed by American silversmiths but included many of Georg Jenson’s design elements, creating an interesting overlap of styles that make Georg Jenson USA pieces particularly unique. \u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003eThis brooch has an added layer of beauty that we love. The original owner of the brooch used moth balls in her drawers, which causes sterling silver to oxidize at a faster rate, giving it a beautiful dark patina. The brooch has the appearance of gun metal, and the matte surface of the brooch gives it a satiny blued silver. Because the patina was so perfectly uniformed, we decided to leave it on the piece. \u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\u003cdiv\u003eThe brooch measures 1 7\/8” x 1 15\/16. It weighs 12.85 grams. The brooch has a pin on the back with a safety latch.
