Solid Amboyna Burl Wood Box, circa 1930s
This is a beautiful and rare solid burl wood box, made in the 1930s. Burl wood is a rare material that is usually only used in veneers. This box has a simple design with a hinged lid and is well-crafted. It is a good size for holding keepsakes, jewelry or small desk supplies. The color and swirling pattern of the wood is lovely. It is in excellent condition. The bottom of the box is made out of non-burled wood. This box measures 4 3/4" x 3 5/8" x 2".
