These Edwardian kite shape earrings are a sparkly delight. A small circular frame surrounds the top 4 mm bezel set diamond where the earring post is. An open work kite shape drops down from this and is encrusted with 2mm old European cut diamonds. The kite shape has a central 4mm diamond, this is bezel set with delicate milgrain details around it. From this an open work filigree pattern emerges with more milgrain details creating a lace like effect within the kite.
Each earring has two 4mm old European cut diamonds and ten 2 mm diamonds. The total approximate carat weight in diamonds is 1.5 carats. The diamonds are bright and lively and well matched. The color is G/H in color and range in clarity from VS11 to SL11. The metal acid tests as platinum and they have a 14 karat white gold post and earring backs. The earring post was added to these earrings to make them suitable for pierced ears. They measure 1" x 1/2" and weight 4.3 grams. Circa 1910-1915.
