Platinum Art Deco Style Diamond and Sapphire Engagement Ring

This stunning platinum ring incorporates beautiful elements of Art Deco design—a combination of filigree lacework and a micro-pave of single cut diamonds. The ring’s center stone is a .85 carat round diamond that is surrounded by sparkling micro-pave and the vibrant blue of natural French cut sapphires. The stone’s setting is an intricate work of art. The micro-pave is bead set into rows, and the sapphires are channel set, leading toward the culmination of the center diamond. The rows fold around the center stone to create a unique variation of a bezel setting. The center diamond sits in a carriage, elevating it to give this ring a high profile.

The Art Deco style filigree work is spectacular. A flowery engraving gives detail to the base of the ring, and along the band, there is a subtle leaf design. While this ring was not made in the Art Deco era, it embodies the traditions and craftsmanship the era was known for.

The round diamond is 6mm, G-H in color and VS-II in clarity. There are 40 single cut diamonds, 1.25mm each. The ring’s total diamond carat weight is 1.25. The 14 natural sapphires are 1.25mm and square French cut. The ring weighs 5.7 grams. This would make the perfect engagement or cocktail ring.

The ring is size 6.5 and has the potential to be resized. Circa 1990s.
