15K Gold Early Victorian Pansy Ring

$850.00
This is a beautiful example of a pansy style of ring. The ring dates to around 1850, the early part of the Victorian period, and is made from 15 karat gold. It has five gems representing the five petals of the flower. The two bottom gems are amethysts , the two side petals are pearls and the top a vibrant turquoise cabochon.
In the language of Victorian flowers the pansy is equated with "think of me" from the French verb penser; to think or think of me. A perfect love token.
On the shoulders of the ring is lovely engraved details. the gems are colette set add a lovely texture around the flower. The ring is a size 5 1/2 and can be resized as the engraving does not go all the way around the band.
Acid tested to be 15K gold and weighs 2.2 grams.
It is in excellent condition for its age, a beautiful Early Victorian Treasure.
