9K Rose Gold Georgian Era Hand-Cut Medallion Fob

This elegant shield or medal pendant features bright cut work framing a blank cartouche to engrave initials or a personal message. The pendant is made in a soft rose gold color, and measures 1-1/2 by 1 inch. It features a bale up top that is ready to loop through the chain of your choice. The shield pendant is blank on both sides, and one of these two features the hallmarks and gold markings for 9K gold (375) and date letters. The ornate edge of the shield has been stamped with WWC- the maker's mark; for William Walter Cashmore. Other letters mark this piece as Newcastle and the letter F dates it to 1828. The medallion pendant is slender and has a nice feel as well as weight to it. There are some marks on the blank cartouche but these can be polished when a signature or initials are engraved.  The shield is remarkably well made, hand-cut, and for a Georgian piece it is in great shape. This antique weighs approximately 9.3 grams. It's quite an impressive piece. A perfect unisex item, ready to be personalized.
