9K Gold Victorian Etched Rock Crystal Watch Fob

A charming Victorian 9 karat gold fob with a carved rock crystal monogram in fancy gothic script. The fob has the letter "JH" nicely etched into the clear color rock crystal. The quartz measures approximately 7/8 x 3/4 of an inch. It swivels around the 9K gold support, which has some curling lines and simple gold bead designs on the side. The gold links that hang from the fob measure 1 inch in length. The fob is ready to hang on a hook, or chain of your choice. Can be worn as a charm or attached to a chain as a decorative object. Weighs approximately 7 grams. Circa 1890.

Traditionally, during the Victorian era, fobs were worn by gentlemen as a sign of status and elegance. When pressed against a wax seal, the fob became the personal signature of its owner, and would be used to sign documents.
