A beautiful 22k gold nugget is suspended from an 18k gold chain, its organic shape and gorgeous texture making a perfect focal point on the collarbone. The free form structure of the nugget captures the poetry of nature, and dark matrixes along the gold reveal tiny bits of the mother stone. Sourced from an Alaskan gold rush piece, the jump rings attached to each side of the nugget are original, circa the Victorian era. The 18k gold rolo chain is well-matched to the nugget, giving the entire piece a cohesive, antique feel.
Gold nuggets are formed by hot fluids flowing through cracks deep in the Earth’s crust. Weather eventually releases the nuggets into streams and bodies of water, where they are shaped by erosion and time.
The nugget measures 1/2” x 1/2”, not including the jump rings. The length of the chain is 16 3/4”. The chain is Italian made, marked 18k gold, and features a lobster clasp. The piece weighs 8.1 grams.
