This is a gorgeous antique case made of copper and silver, made by Gorham Manufacturing Co. around 1880. It has a beautiful original patina with a deep rust color that comes from old age.
On the front of the piece is an intricate silver decoration of a what appears to be a Samurai figure in traditional clothing with one hand stretched out towards an oversized bloom of flowers.
The case is in great condition. The lid fits snugly, but there are some minor dents on the back side. It can be used to hold cigarettes, notes, or other personal items. It measures 3" x 2" x 3/4". The back has the engraving: "To Robert P. Linderman from Chapter II October 15, 1884." The inside rim has the hallmarks for Gorham.
