18K Gold Vintage Dog Medallion Tag with Diamonds & Ruby

A lovely 18K yellow gold medallion of Fido the faithful dog, featuring diamond gemstones and a ruby. A retriever-type friend is depicted in profile, carrying an item in his mouth that features a 3.8mm old European cut diamond with a high table. There is a tiny ruby cabochon set into the dog's eye and five tiny rose cut diamonds on the white gold collar of the dog. The dog bears gifts- gemstones set into bright yellow gold that has been textured with an acid finish. This medallion is a rare and special piece that resembles a dog tag; here the loyal friend has been beautifully pictured with high relief against an organically shaped disc. Where the largest diamond is set, there is an open back, making this a luminous piece to wear around the neck.

This charming pendant is approximately 1 inch in size and weighs 8.6 grams. It remains unmarked but has been acid tested. It has a generous bale making it perfect for any chain.
