This is a bold and graphic curb-link variation necklace, handmade in Italy, circa 1970, with 18k gold. It has a striking design that has been hand-cut, seamlessly nestling together the alternating bar and curb-links. This design hangs flat around the neck, crafted with such finesse that it’s almost snakelike.
The gold is marked on the clasp as 750. The last link, adjacent to the clasp, has a maker’s mark starting with “AR” for Arezzo, one of the jewelry making capitals in Italy.
The necklace is 17 3/4” from end to end and is just under 1/4” in width. It has a substantial weight of 23 grams. There is a box clasp with a safety latch that keeps the necklace secure around the neck.
