This gorgeous 18 karat yellow gold Georgian era necklace is composed of many hand-made star textured, rolled links with an original clasp at the end. The necklace is entirely hand-made, with pounded gold links that reveal a star texture that creates a faceting, that in turn reflects yellow gold light. The circular links are approximately 1/4 of an inch and hand clasp is almost one inch long. The slender hand is also beautifully engraved with textured with dots, adding depth and shine to this element. On the finger is a bright green emerald, which portrays a ring, and measures approximately 2.4 x 3.5 mm. The clasp opens and closes perfectly, and overall the necklace is in great shape for its age. There is some evident wear to the individual links, visible only by loop around the edges, but this is to be expected due to its age. Because these are hand-made links they are delicate and unique, so the wear is hard to notice and it does not detract from the beauty of this piece.
The necklace measures 19 inches long, and hangs well. It has been acid tested to 18 karats and has no maker's marks, which is common for Georgian pieces. It weights 27 grams. The necklace is a pleasure to wear, and a rare antique. Perfect for any antique jewelry collection, this Georgian era necklace is an incredible treasure and will stack well with other necklaces.
