This is a great squared oval link 14K yellow gold watch chain with slide. It is a Victorian piece and it features a double sided hand engraved slide with a decorative leaf design and a 2 1/4 chain drop ending in a dog clip. These attributes make it very versatile, the slide allows for shortening or lengthening the chain like a bolo; and the dog clip allows for clipping in various charms or talisman. It is 20.5" long so it can easily serve as a necklace and it ends in a large spring ring for easy opening and closing. The slide moves up and down the chain and stays in position once you place it. The spring ring clasp is a modern addition.
This is a solid chain so there is real weight to it at 31.5 grams, it tests to be 14K gold, the spring ring is marked. The link is 4.35mm wide and 6.6mm long with a gauge of 1.1mm. The slide is 1/2" x 1/2" x 1/4".
