Tiffany & Co. has a history of safety pin jewelry that dates back to the 1940’s. Throughout the years, there have been many versions of the iconic safety pin, varying in shape, size, and decoration. This particular pin, circa the 1960’s, is one of the most simple and sophisticated renditions of the Tiffany safety pin. The gold is twisted into elegant loops to create a graceful and elongated shape.
The pin is fully hallmarked with “Tiffany & Co.” and 585. It can be worn in many ways: as a brooch; a chain extender; or charms could be soldered on to dangle from the pin. It weighs 3 grams and measures 2 1/4” x 3/8”. In excellent condition.
