This is a beautiful pair of vintage earrings with cabochon opals set in a cascading reverse teardrop design. These stones have a nice earth toned palette and feature both fire and jelly opals. There are warm oranges, pale yellows and clears stones all with the beautiful color play opals are known for. They are all bezel set in 14k gold and range in size from 1.6 mm - 7.5 mm in diameter. They have a combined weight of 12 carats of opals.
The design is organic and resembles a collection of different sized pebble stones one might find out for walk. They are interlocked with an exposed back that allows light to shine through. The bottom of each earring has a thin oval stone that dangles and offers nice movement. Together, they have a combined weight of 10.2 grams, measure about 2” from top to bottom, and 3/4” at the widest part.
