This is a fabulous Victorian fancy link chain with tassel. Twisted gold wire and shaped cross section links make up this complex fancy link chain. It is 42 inches long and in between each fancy link are 3 oval links making a beautiful rhythmic chain. A large tassel hangs from a split ring and adds movement and flair to the chain. The tassel is 2 1/2" long and make a statement hanging at the bottom of the chain. The tassel is made up of wheat chain lengths ending with a gold ball at chain end. The top of the tassel is adorned leaf details in a yellow and rosier gold. There is a barrel clasp just above the tassel with a nice enamel detail, in perfect working order. Perhaps once a muff chain in Victorian times , now a stylish and versatile piece of jewelry. This chain is perfect for adding texture and can be worn once of twice around the neck. Great piece for layering with other necklaces.
