The centerpiece of this beautiful bracelet is a table cut natural blue sapphire. Rectangular in shape, the stone is bezel set with milgrain work around the border. On each side of the sapphire are old mine cut diamonds in a matching bezel setting. In a very delicate line, 22 single and rose cut diamonds feed into the remaining part of the bangle.
The sapphire measures 5.3 x 4.65 mm and is 3/4 of a carat. The two larger diamonds are 2.3mm each and the 22 small diamonds range from 1.25 to 1mm. The bracelet contains approximately 1/3 of a carat of diamonds. The bracelet weighs 8 grams and measures 2 1/2” x 2 1/8”.
Circa 1915, this piece is on the cusp of Edwardian and Art Deco and exhibits design elements of both eras: the delicacy of Edwardian jewelry combined with the geometric circles and squares of Art Deco.
This is a clean, feminine, delicate bracelet. It is a simple and lovely addition that dresses up any outfit. It also makes a great bridal bracelet—especially because the sapphire stone adds “something blue” for good luck.
