Navette Shape Silver-Topped Gold Sapphire and Diamond Ring

$2,150.00

This navette shaped ring features a cushion-shaped synthetic sapphire measuring 9.75 x 6.50 x 4.6 mm or 2.5 carats.

The sapphire in this ring is an early synthetic sapphire, known as the Verneuil method or flame fusion. It was the first commercially successful method of manufacturing synthetic gemstones developed in the late 1800s by the French chemist Aguste Verneuil.

Surrounding the sapphire are 36 rose cut diamonds, they define the elongated navette shape of this ring. The diamonds range in size from 2mm to 3.5 with an approximate carat weight of 2 carats. The diamonds are bead set in the silver-topped 14k gold. The ring in profile shows off the beautiful carriage work. It is a long navette shape measuring 1 3/4" by 1/2". The shank and back of the ring are 14 karat gold and has been acid tested.

This Victorian classic beautifully graces the hand of the wearer.
