Victorian 18K Gold, Emerald, Diamond, Ruby and Enamel Bangle Bracelet

$1,895.00

This distinct 18 karat yellow gold bangle bracelet features a central emerald cabochon surrounded by rubies, and framed by diamonds over deep blue enamel.

The bracelet takes the form of two nail head shapes coming together with the emerald and ruby floral form at the center. At the end of each blue enamel section is a single cut diamond, set into four prongs. The diamonds are approximately 3mm each. The bright green emerald cabochon really lights up the piece. It is 6 mm and approximately 3/4 of a carat.  The 10 rubies are 2.5 mm each and are a gorgeous bright pink that complements the blue enamel, the yellow gold, and the green emerald perfectly. The total carat weight for the 10 rubies is approximately 1 carat.

The bangle bracelet will fit up to a 7 inch wrist and weighs 13.9 grams. It is in great condition for its age, with only minor enamel wear at the clasp, where one might expect it. It is not something that deters from the beauty of this piece, and barely visible to the naked eye. The bracelet has been acid tested to 18 karats, and has an 18K gold mark on the interior of the clasp. There is also a hallmark that looks like a Portuguese mark, but I am unable to identify it. The bracelet dates to the 1890s.

It is a fine example of jewelry that was inspired by nature, sentimental and carefully created with superior craftsmanship during the Victorian era.
